A systematic review of peer-reviewed literature published between 2011 and 2018 found consistent associations between exposure to mold or damp indoor environments and the experience of fatigue. The review, conducted by Dooley and McMahon and published in Environmental Analysis, Health and Toxicology, adds to a growing body of evidence that indoor mold and dampness carry meaningful health consequences beyond respiratory symptoms. Clinicians and patients investigating unexplained fatigue should consider the indoor environment as a contributing factor worth thorough evaluation.
